Welcome to the Montana School of Log Building!

Learn the full-scribe handcrafted method!
Welcome to the Montana School of Log Building.  For over 30 years Al Anderson has been training builders how-to handcraft log homes.  He has trained individuals who wanted to build their own homes or start businesses, husband/wife teams, log crews from established log home companies, construction engineers and architects.  Besides teaching, Al Anderson is a Montana contractor, who builds handcrafted log homes nationwide.

The Montana School of Log Building teaches the full scribe method of log construction that creates an efficient chinkless fit.  On site instruction is hands-on training in small classes.  Many students attend classes to get hands-on experience after they have watched "The Video Course" now on DVD's.  The pre-training is a helpful  introduction with prior knowledge of terms and techniques. Learning is more efficient.  "The Video Course" is a resource that can refresh practices when the student returns home.  Classes allow the students to practice handcrafting log construction skills, which enable them to confidently pursue projects of their own, which they have all over the world!

Whether in his log yard for a hands-on class or listening to his instruction via "The Video Course", learning is step-by-step, specific, and understandable.  Hundreds of his students world-wide are handcrafting incredible log buildings with techniques learned by Al Anderson.
Al is a motivator, a teacher, a log craftsman who delivers a wealth of tips, skills, and knowledge of Handcrafting Log Homes.
