Log home construction classes at the Montana School of Log BuildingTM are 5 day training sessions - Monday through Friday 8:00 to 4:00, breaking for lunch. Classes are small, and enrollment is limited. Students learn the techniques by scribing and sawing logs into place. At our logyard along the Jefferson River, students in classes learn what they need to know to build a log home: foundations to roof systems. Students can help themselves by viewing the "Video Course." The knowledge gained at-home pre trains students prior to attending classes. Graduation Certificates are issued upon class completion. No special equipment is needed - chain saws and all hand tools are provided. A tape measure may be helpful. Students may bring personal equipment (chain saws, gouges, levels) if they wish. Students should bring basic safety items: eye protection, ear plugs, gloves and work clothes. Remember, this is a hands-on learning experience. Al Anderson personally teaches a few people each year at an affordable rate in his log yard in Three Forks, Montana. LODGING AND MEALS
