The Canoeing House

The Jefferson River pools up and gently ripples to the next pristine pool.  Families enjoy lunch on the river and the natural beauty of the surrounding mountain ranges, as deer drink at the river's edge, eagles soar overhead, and otters chatter at the visitors. 406-285-3488.

The Canoeing House, Three Forks Montana 406-285-3488  .

is located between Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park 35 miles west of Bozeman, Montana, just 4 miles off Interstate 90.
With 60 acres and a private landing on the Jefferson River ,  visitors park at our site and are shuttled up river for 2 to 6 hours of scenic day canoeing or kayaking.  While many paddle just for a day, others prefer canoe camping or guided trips.  The Canoeing House provides services on hundreds of miles of clear, clean rivers-The Jefferson, Madison, Gallatin, Missouri and Yellowstone. Three Forks is at the confluence of the Madison, Gallatin and Jefferson Rivers, which makes it a hub of recreation.  Three Forks is also home to Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park and Missouri Headwaters State Park.

Smith River Camping

The Canoeing House will deliver canoes or kayaks to Fort Smith and pick them up at Eden Bridge.  This is one of the "Last Best Canoe Trips."  A permit is required from the Depart of Fish Wildlife and Parks in Great Falls, MT.  This is a great trip for a small group of canoers because the camp sites are large and river side.  This is a 3 to 5 day trip with excellent camping! Call The Canoeing House for Canoe Rentals and Shuttles at 406-285-3488 or by email.
Call the Fish, Wildlife, and Parks Smith River Hotline at 406-454-5861 between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon to request any remaining launch dates that may be available.
