MEA-MFT believes Montana's children deserve great teaching and helps their members expand their skills and knowledge by offering top-quality professional development opportunities. State law mandates that public K-12 teachers receive three days of professional development each year.  All of Montana's public schools will be closed on the above dates so teachers across the state may attend the MEA-MFT Educators' Conference.

'Nobody knows more about great teaching than great teachers,'' said Eric Feaver, president of the MEA-MFT, the state's largest union of school and government employees. ''That's why every year, MEA-MFT presents the best in teacher-designed, teacher-delivered professional development.''

The MEA-MFT Educators' Conference is the largest professional conference for teachers in the Northwest, with over 600 workshops and keynotes on every imaginable teaching topic. Thousands of teachers take part in MEA-MFT's many professional opportunities each year, returning to the classroom with fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and new skills.

Each September the BEA distributes to BEA members programs containing registration forms and listings of the workshops to be offered at the MEA-MFT Educators' Conference.
